Jr, Cad, Sr, Amb Live Online Summit

Service Description

Attention Juniors, Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors! Reach the summit in a single three-day holiday weekend! Help "real live" scientist collect data through a variety of projects! Then help spread the word about citizen science and earn your Think Like a Citizen Scientist journey! Learn engineering principles and use them to create something to help people in need and earn your Think Like an Engineer journey! From there, Juniors how to tap into their leadership potential, create an animated video to support a cause of their choice, and earn the "Agent of Change" journey. Cadettes learn about how to navigate relationships and Seniors learn about relating to different personality styles. Both levels then create an educational computer game about what they have learned... Cadettes earn their "aMaze" journey and Seniors earn their "Mission Sisterhood" journey. And Ambassadors learn how to network to promote a cause of their choice, create a presentation about it, and earn their "Your Voice Your World" journey. Cadettes also have the option to earn their LIA for 1-3 journeys. Pre and post event meetings required. Space is limited, and priority given to 3-journey participants. The workshop runs from 9:00am to 5:30pm each day of November 9, 10, and 11, 2024, for those earning three journeys. The schedule for those interested in only 1-2 journey options will be announced closer to the date of the event. The workshop will involve a small amount of time outside of "group time" before, during, and after the session. It is recommended that participants utilize one device for the video call, and a separate device that can use to (remotely) access one of our computers! Feel free to contact us for more information. Engage Thru Tech is becoming the non-profit Inclusive Technology of Washington! We have three options for pricing, so that finances will not be a barrier to anyone! The regular class fee represents the "real cost" of the workshop. The "add a donation" price is for those who are able to pay a bit more so that others in need can receive a discounted rate. In addition, by being an affiliate of Girl Scouts of Western Washington, there may be scholarship options for participants who are members of that council. Certificates of completion will be provided at the end of the workshop, along with links to the badge(s) earned at the workshop, for participants to purchase on their own.

Cancellation Policy

For workshops paid with "cash," a full refund will be provided for cancellations greater than two weeks prior to the event date. For cancellations less than two weeks prior to the event date, a credit will be provided towards a future class or workshop.
